What does CIMA stand for?

CIMA, or The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is the world’s largest professional body of management accountants in the world. They provide globally recognised financial qualifications that are widely respected in the financial industry. This gives CIMA students and members assurance that they have a leading financial qualification and that they are associated with the best institute in their field of management accounting.

Regardless if you plan on working in a small or large company, investing in a CIMA qualification and becoming a member will provide you with a competitive advantage in the financial industry. You will learn how to handle a wide spectrum of management and business-related situations that Management Accountants have to deal with daily.

Why you should opt for CIMA

If you still need convincing that a CIMA course will change your life and help you progress in your career, then read the following:

  • With your CIMA qualification you will have access to top competitive and diverse careers in business

  • You will learn expert knowledge in the finance industry

  • You will develop your decision-making skills and be able to analyse different options on the spot to make wise split-second decisions – time waits for no one in business!

  • CIMA is your passport to a global career!

  • As a CIMA member, you will benefit from their lifelong learning programs to keep you in touch with the very latest developments

  • Fast track your other business studies with a CIMA qualification

Reasons to register as a CIMA student

Firstly, it is essential to register as a Student Member of CIMA. You should also register for all the exams in time, before the closing date of the exam registration each year. Only Student Members of the CIMA’s exam registration will be accepted. You can easily register online and find all applicable information at CIMA’s main website.

How can I become a CIMA Member?

Students who have completed their Professional Qualification successfully and also gained their three years relevant practical experience will be allowed to apply for their CIMA Membership. This is to be seen as a great honour and will serve to distinguish Members from other accountants and managers. After your CIMA registration is approved you can place the letters ACMA after your name. This will be an indication of your recognised status as an Associate Chartered Management Accountant.
